Is my data private?
Yes. Pony Up has no servers — everything stays on your device and in your own iCloud.
How do I share a group with friends?
Create a group, set it to “Shared,” and send the invite link or 6-character code. They join instantly — no account needed.
How do I settle up?
Open the Pony Up tab, pick a person, choose your payment app (Venmo, Cash App, PayPal, Zelle, or cash), then tap “Paid in full.”
Privacy Policy
Effective June 8, 2026. Pony Up (“the app”) is operated by Hintz Enterprises. The short version: we don’t collect your data.
No accounts, no servers
Pony Up doesn’t require an account and has no servers of its own. The expense and group data you enter is stored locally on your device and, if you turn it on, synced through your own personal iCloud account using Apple’s CloudKit. We never receive, store, or have access to that data.
Information we collect
None. We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal information. There is no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind.
iCloud & sharing
If you use sync or shared groups, your data is stored in your private iCloud account and is governed by Apple’s privacy policy. We cannot see it.
Payments
When you choose to pay someone, the app simply opens a third-party app such as Venmo, Cash App, PayPal, or Zelle. Those services have their own privacy policies, and we are not involved in and cannot see those transactions.
Photos & receipts
If you add a profile photo or scan a receipt, those images are processed on your device and stored locally and in your iCloud. We do not receive them. Receipt scanning uses Apple’s on-device text recognition.
Children
Pony Up is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
Your control over your data
Because all data lives on your device and in your iCloud, you’re in control. You can delete any group, expense, or all data from within the app, and remove the app’s iCloud data through your device’s iCloud settings.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time; any changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
